CHAKIAT is a closely run family business group that has been in existence for close to a century. During its initial years, the company was engaged in trading of timber and exports of rosewood. Over the years, products like iron & steel, cement, sanitary ware etc have been added into its range.

The group forayed into shipping and related activities in 1952,  which now  has become  the  core  business  of  the group.From humble beginnings in Cochin, Chakiat has grown into a multi dimensional company, with diverse activities and business interests.

Head quartered at Cochin, the company has its own offices in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tuticorin, Bangalore, Vizag, Tirupur, Hyderabad and Mumbai. It has agents / representatives at Delhi, Calcutta, Guntur and Kakinada. The group employs over 300 people directly and over 1000 people indirectly.
